Prof Dr Marcio Maia
BDS, MDS, MBA Oral Implantology & Endodontics Specialist Blackwood Dental
Dr Marcio Maia has over 18 years of experience as a dentist and is also interested in research and teaching. He enjoys immersing himself in an academic environment and always learning about the latest technologies in the field of dentistry.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Dentistry in 2006, Marcio completed two other extensive post-graduate courses in Endodontics and Implant Dentistry, earning the title of specialist for both specialities in Brazil. He also continued his education by doing a Masters degree in Dentistry, which lead him to start lecturing on Implant Dentistry.
Dr Maia served as an Associate Professor in the Implant Dentistry specialisation for over 4 years in the University of Redentor’s post-graduation program (Juiz de For a- Brazil). He had the honour of lecturing at many dental conferences in Latin America 🇧🇷 New Zealand, Singapore, and Australia, including the international dental congress of Sao Paulo (CIOSP), the second-largest dental conference in the world; the Brazilian Osseointegration Association Congress (ABROS) and the Latin American Osseointegration congress (IN); the Idem Singapore dental congress 2024; the New Zealand dental expo 2023 in Auckland and the National Dental Care Summit in Gold Coast 2022 and 2024.
Dr Marcio Maia facilitates many courses in Australia and overseas on the theme of oral implantology.
He is originally from Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), but since 2021 he has lived and work in Adelaide (South Australia).
