Course Overview:

The Essentials of Implant Restoration program is an intensive one-day course designed to provide dentists with a practical and evidence-based introduction to modern implant prosthodontics.

The course combines lectures, live demonstrations, digital workflows and extensive hands-on exercises, allowing participants to develop confidence in restoring single implants and implant-supported bridges using both conventional and digital techniques.

Emphasis is placed on clinical decision-making, prosthetic planning, impression techniques, restorative workflows and long-term maintenance to help clinicians achieve predictable restorative outcomes.

Meet your presenter

Prof Dr Marcio Maia

BDS, MDS, MBA Oral Implantology & Endodontics Specialist, National Dental Care

Dr Marcio Maia graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2006 and subsequently completed extensive postgraduate training in Implant Dentistry, earning specialist recognition in Brazil. He later obtained a Master of Dental Science (MDS) and an MBA in Healthcare Management, combining advanced clinical expertise with leadership and education.

For over four years, Dr Maia served as an Associate Professor in Implant Dentistry at the University of Redentor (Juiz de Fora, Brazil), where he taught advanced surgical and restorative implant dentistry to postgraduate clinicians. Passionate about evidence-based implantology, he has lectured extensively across Latin America 🇧🇷, New Zealand 🇳🇿, Singapore 🇸🇬, Malaysia 🇲🇾, Vietnam 🇻🇳 and Australia 🇦🇺.

Dr Maia is a Lecturer at the Implant Education Academy, a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), the Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS), and the Australian Dental Association (ADA). He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Australian Osseointegration Society – South Australia Branch.

Based at National Dental Care South Terrace and North Adelaide Village in Adelaide, Dr Maia maintains a clinical practice focused on implant surgery, bone and soft tissue regeneration, and complex implant rehabilitation. He continues to deliver hands-on courses and lectures nationally and internationally, with a passion for advancing implant education and helping clinicians confidently incorporate predictable implant therapy into everyday practice.
