Rethinking how we work today to protect tomorrow.

Sustainability is no longer a future consideration; it’s a responsibility we all share today. As a dental laboratory, we’re acutely aware that the work we do every day relies on advanced materials, precise manufacturing, and efficient processes. With that comes an obligation to continually assess how we operate, manage waste, and reduce our impact without compromising quality, accuracy, or patient outcomes.

At Andent, sustainability isn’t about grand gestures or box-ticking. It’s about making thoughtful, practical improvements that genuinely move the needle, and doing so in a way that aligns with the standards our customers expect.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Building on our success and looking ahead to 2026, our focus is twofold: maintaining the consistency, reliability, and clinical excellence that define Andent while also operating more responsibly as a business.

A key priority this year is our continued commitment to sustainability, particularly around reducing, recycling, and rethinking the waste generated in modern dental lab processes. Like many laboratories, we work with high-performance materials that are essential to precision dentistry. The challenge, and the opportunity, lies in managing those materials more intelligently once they’ve served their purpose.

Partnering With the Australian Dental Sustainability Initiative

In 2026, we’re proud to be partnering with the Australian Dental Sustainability Initiative (ADSI) – an organisation dedicated to driving practical, industry-led solutions that reduce the environmental footprint of dentistry across Australia.

Through this partnership, Andent will be recycling key dental materials including PMMA milling discs, thermoelastic discs, and PEEK discs. Rather than being sent to landfill, these materials are collected and reprocessed, then transformed into innovative, durable products such as decking and fencing, all developed and manufactured right here in Australia.

This initiative reflects an approach to sustainability we strongly believe in: local solutions, tangible outcomes, and real environmental benefit. It’s not about perfection, but progress – and about embedding better practices into everyday operations in a way that’s scalable and sustainable long term.

Reducing Waste Without Compromising Quality

As a 100% Australian-made laboratory, Andent has always taken pride in the care and control we maintain over our processes. That same mindset applies to sustainability. By reviewing how materials are used, how waste is separated, and how recycling can be integrated into daily workflows, we’re able to make meaningful improvements without affecting turnaround times, accuracy, or clinical results.

These changes may not always be visible at the bench or chairside, but they matter. They represent a shift towards a more responsible way of working, one that recognises the collective impact of thousands of small decisions made every year.

Sustainability Beyond the Lab: TrioClear

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond Andent and into the solutions we provide, including TrioClear.

Through TrioClear’s Plant A Tree initiative, ten native shrubs are planted for every TrioClear case. This program supports local revegetation efforts and contributes to restoring native habitats, reinforcing our shared responsibility to care for the environment beyond our immediate industry.

TrioClear also demonstrates its commitment to a cleaner planet through compostable packaging and the use of 100% recyclable paper, helping to reduce unnecessary plastic waste and support a more circular approach to packaging.

These initiatives align closely with our own values at Andent: practical sustainability, integrated into everyday business decisions, rather than treated as an afterthought.

A Shared Responsibility

Sustainability isn’t something any one business can achieve alone. It’s a collective effort, involving manufacturers, suppliers, laboratories, and clinicians, all working towards smarter, more responsible practices.

At Andent, we see our role as part of that wider ecosystem. By partnering with organisations like ADSI, supporting initiatives like TrioClear’s Plant A Tree program, and continuously reviewing how we operate as a laboratory, we’re taking steps toward a future that balances clinical excellence with environmental responsibility.

We know there is always more to do. But we’re committed to continuous improvement, transparency, and making decisions that support not only the dental community today, but the environment we all rely on tomorrow.
